Call to Earth, the original journal of the International Association of Environmental Philosophy, was founded by Kenneth Maly and published its first issue in March 2000. Ingrid Stefanovic joined the publication as Co-Editor in 2001. Two issues were published each year in 2000, 2001, and 2002. The last issue was Vol 4, No 1 in March 2003. Call to Earth was published by the University of Wisonsin-LaCrosse in its first year, and subsequently published jointly with the University of Toronto.
In 2004, the format and scope of the journal was expanded and the name changed to Environmental Philosophy. During the two subsequent years, the journal was published by the Centre for Environment at the University of Toronto, under the managing editorship of Ingrid Stefanovic. A third Co-Editor, W. S. K. Cameron of Loyola Marymount University, joined the editorial staff in 2005.
Since 2007, Environmental Philosophy has been published by the University of Oregon with Ted Toadvine as Editor-in-Chief. W. S. K. Cameron continues to serve as a Co-Editor of the journal. Kenneth Maly retired from his position as Co-Editor in 2008, and was replaced by William Edelglass of Marlboro College.
William Edelglass served as Book Review Editor from 2007 through 2011. Since 2012, this position has been held by Janet Donohoe of the University of West Georgia.
